Our client is a global leader in designing commercial and industrial buildings with safety, performance, and sustainability in mind. They are seeking a Senior Business Development Leader reporting to the Regional Business Head who has the strength, experience, and drive to effectively lead, challenge, and inspire the leadership group and the 70-person staff to work together cohesively as a team.
The perfect candidate has the proven ability to develop client relationships, lead business development activities and continue the growth and success of the Ottawa office. The new hire will play a pivotal role in diversifying the client and project base and participate in securing and executing strategic projects.
Sustain and grow revenue within the company's primary business sectors, working collaboratively with other Business Leaders to achieve key performance metrics
Lead and coordinate business development efforts, including market research, client relationships, developing leads, and securing contracts.
Participate in and lead marketing and business development meetings, client surveys, budgets and local business center improvement plans.
Assist with developing the annual business plan and budget and work with the leadership team to develop and execute the national business strategy.
Develop, review, and approve proposals, reports, and contract documents in accordance with company policy.
Attend selected conferences and maintain active memberships in associations.
Oversee post-win deliverables with clients and internal staff (i.e. key performance indicators, documents for negotiation, assistance with work orders, staff identification, and working with contract staff as required).
Degree in Engineering (mandatory) and PEO membership (an asset)
15+ years of experience in the Buildings Engineering industry within a consulting environment.
Above-average business development skills, plus the ability to maintain long-term customer relationships within a consulting organization in Ontario (a strong asset).
A strong understanding of the Ottawa region with a well-established network in the industry..
Experience with responding to Requests for Proposals, Expressions of Interests, Statements of Qualifications.
Demonstrated technical skills on major projects.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
Excellent organization, coordination, and managerial skills.
Knowledge of market assessment techniques, insights, and contacts.
Familiarity with industry trends and industry leaders in the Ottawa region
